7 Do’s and Don’ts of Buying a Home
Avoid common homebuying pitfalls with advice from the experts!
Do:
• Get pre-approved for a mortgage BEFORE you shop—avoid heartbreak by knowing what you can afford.
• Seek advice from an experienced professional—a Realtor® will help you navigate the entire process.
• Make an informed offer—based on comparable homes, not emotion.
• Look beyond the home’s current condition— be aware of small things that can easily be fixed and larger issues that cannot.
Don’t:
• Make an emotional decision—stay level headed to avoid buyer’s remorse.
• Look at mortgage rates from ONLY one lender—do your due diligence and seek out rates from several lenders.
• Apply for lines of credit or make large credit purchases—your credit score will get dinged, impacting your pre-approval, mortgage approval and more.
